The Shoe Store PDX

We met Allan and Kelly of The Shoe Store on a recent visit to Portland. Located in the Alberta District the laid back vibe has been a perfect fit for Blu Kicks. And the owners, Allan and Kelly are a fun pair who like to keep it classy with Martinis and Lemon Drops. In their shop they have a wide range of shoe brands such as Blu Kicks, MOVMT, Keep, and Richer Poorer. We spoke with Kelly to get their thoughts on cocktails, hookie, and their favorite travel tip.

What did you do before working at The Shoe Store? We both served tables- pushin' those mozzarella sticks and boneless wings (it was awesome... ok, not really)

Describe Your Ideal "Playing Hookie Day" Being business owners, it's rare that playing hookie is an option, but... camping would be ideal. Camping on the coast, hanging out on the beach and around the campfire, playing Yahtzee. 

What's your favorite cocktail? Allan prefers straight up vodka...but when he gets fancy he'll class it up to a martini. I prefer hard cider, but during my classier moments, lemon-drops are where its at. 

What's your favorite beach/seaside town? Our favorite seaside town is Manzanita, OR. It's super small and not overcrowded, which is perfect.

What's your best travel tip? Our travel tip... You can never bring too much underwear.
